Configure HyperV Hosts in AD

 

1.      Create an OU for Hyper-V Hosts.

 

1.      Log onto the Domain as the domain administrator.

2.      Open Active directory users and computers console.

3.      Create a new OU in the root of domain by name HpV Hosts.

4.      Tick the box “Protect object from accidental deletion”.

5.      Click OK.

 

2.      Move Hyper-V Computer Account to New OU

 

1.      Move the computer account into this OU as required from the computers OU.

2.      Right click on the account in the new OU and select properties

3.      Select the Object tab

4.      Tick Protect Object from Accidental Deletion and click OK

5.      Return to the HpV host

6.      You need to select view/advanced options from the AD console to expose this option

7.      At a command prompt on the Host, type GPUPDATE /FORCE

8.      Restart the server to complete the GPO application.
